henley-style alder shirtdress

Back in September, I went on a major Alder Shirtdress binge. I love how versatile this pattern is! There are so many great variations that have been made so far and it seems that I can't stop myself from making more and more. Plus, once I saw this popover shirtdress from Madewell, I knew I'd need a plaid version for winter.

Of course, I just got so excited after I finished sewing it that I completely forgot to take any photos or blog about the changes I made to the pattern...it made its way into my wardrobe rotation pretty quick. The day before we left for a vacation in Hawaii, I finally remembered to take some photos of how it turned out (on a very windy ferry ride).

I promise, when we get back home there will be a tutorial with MUCH better pictures and a how-to. However, I can say that I referenced these two tutorials-Melly Sews and Sewn by Elizabeth-in case you're dying to figure out your own popover version in the meantime.
