Learn to Knit - May 10 & 17
Learn to knit with us!
In this class we'll take you from the very beginning with the Stitch-Sampler Hand Warmers from Churchmouse Classroom. This is a perfect first project that teaches all the essential techniques while guiding you to create something classic and practical.
The Churchmouse "Learn to Knit" companion booklet will be included. This is a wonderful booklet with numerous pictures and extensive information that will be a valuable resource to support your learning long after the class is over.
You'll learn all the basics of knitting: how to cast on, work knit and purl stitches, bind off, and seam your hand warmers.
This class is for anyone that wants to learn to knit or re-visit something learned in childhood that has been forgotten. It is for both right and left handed people. I will not be teaching differently for left handed knitters as knitting is a “two-handed sport”, neither right or left handed.
This class is held in person at our Bainbridge Island shop over two sessions on Sunday, May 10th and 17th from 10:00am - 12:00pm. Taught by Kathy Connelly!
What you'll learn:
- Knit and Purl (English or Continental style)
- Casting on and binding off
- Seaming
- How to wind yarn
- Different forms and types of yarn
What you'll need for the class:
- Approx. 110 yds/100m of worsted-weight yarn (we recommend Heavy Merino or Garamond in a light color so you can see your stitches)
- US 8 (5mm) needles (straight or circular)
The pattern and booklet will be included. Yarn and needles should be purchased separately. If you'd like to purchase supplies from us, contact us for a 15% off discount, but you're welcome to bring your own supplies!
Cancellation Policies:
If fewer than three spots are filled 72 hours before the class is scheduled to begin, the class will be canceled. A full refund will be issued and you will be notified.
If you need to cancel your registration for any reason, you must do so at least 72 hours prior to the start of the class in order to receive a full refund. We appreciate your understanding!
