Shop Manager (Retail & Operations Lead)
About the Role
We’re looking for a Shop Manager who will take ownership of the day-to-day operations of our store. This role is for someone who thinks like a small business owner - proactive, detail-oriented, and invested in both the customer experience and the success of the business.
You’ll oversee the shop as a whole - from the sales floor to inventory, team leadership, and programming - while working alongside a collaborative team that supports daily execution.
What You’ll Own
Shop Experience & Sales
- Maintain a welcoming, organized, and visually compelling store
- Drive sales through merchandising, product knowledge, and customer experience
Team Leadership
- Manage scheduling and support a small team
- Train, mentor, and create a positive team environment
Inventory & Product Management
- Oversee inventory, restocking, and ordering
- Identify opportunities to improve product assortment and performance
Operations & Programming
- Keep daily operations running smoothly
- Oversee classes, events, and shop samples that support community and sales
- Evaluate and improve systems and processes over time
- Comfortable with Shopify or similar systems for managing POS and web processes

Experience
- Background in retail or small business operations
- Experience with inventory and/or team leadership preferred
- Basic knowledge of knitting preferred
Compensation
- · Salary: Starting at $30/hour, depending on experience
