We are so excited to host Amanda Harper of Pine & Cactus for this fun class! You will learn about natural color making through eco printing - a beautiful way to preserve the color and character of plants directly onto cloth. We’ll be using locally grown and harvested botanicals in this user-friendly technique and explore how each botanical leaves its own unique mark on an organic cotton bandana. Through an overview, demonstration, and hands-on learning, you'll discover how to prepare textiles for eco printing, create long-lasting botanical prints, and properly care for your finished pieces. You'll leave with a one-of-a-kind bandana that becomes a lasting record of the season. Beginner friendly, no experience necessary.
Amanda first learned about natural pigments from a workshop she took in Santa Fe and has been hooked ever since! She finds joy in connecting the creative process to nature, place, and community. As a teacher, she’s excited to share this and inspire others to discover the beauty of working with natural color.
This class is held at our shop on Bainbridge Island on Sunday September 27th from 10:00am - 12:00pm.
