Ready to stitch up your new favorite top?

The Captiva Crop by Laura Murphy is cute, breezy, and just the right mix of flirty and fun, In this 3-session class, we’ll walk through the pattern step-by-step, from choosing your size to finishing the final stitches.

This class will meet for three 2-hour sessions, spaced thoughtfully to provide plenty of time to work on your top in between. In the first session, we’ll go over yarn selection, sizing, and gauge swatching, all crucial for a well-fitting top. Throughout the remaining two sessions, you will be guided through starting the top, working through the yoke, splitting for sleeves and working on the body, and end with finishing up the sleeves for a fun, casual top!

Each student will also have the option of scheduling an additional 30-minute one on one session with one of our associates to answer any further questions and ensure your project is on the right track.

Skills Needed: Basic crochet knowledge (chain, single crochet, double crochet)

Skills Taught: Working in the round, foundational single crochet, chainless double and treble crochet stitches, and reading garment patterns

What you’ll need for the class:

- US E (3.5mm) crochet hook

- 656 - 1796 yards of fingering weight yarn (dependent on size), we recommend Merino Twist, Swanky Sock, and Albertine

No need to bring materials for the first class; we'll focus on pattern and yarn selection. However, if you already have a yarn in mind, feel free to bring it along.

We will provide the printed pattern and a few notions. Hooks and yarn should be purchased separately. If you'd like to purchase supplies from us, contact us for a 15% off discount, but you're welcome to bring your own supplies! This project works great for scraps.

This class is held in person at our Bainbridge Island shop over three sessions on Saturday, September 6th, Saturday, September 13, and Saturday, September 27 from 10:00am-12:00pm. This class will be taught by our very own Angela Wong!
