Do you know the basics of knitting (casting on, knit & purl stitches, binding off) but are ready for your next challenge? Or maybe you learned to knit a while ago, and are looking for a refresher course? Continue your knitting journey with us!
In this class you will learn how to knit the Basic Beanie by Tin Can Knits.
Techniques we will cover in this class will be:
How to knit in the round, work ribbed stitches, count rows, and work decrease rounds, all while creating a bottom-up hat!
This class is held in person at our Bainbridge Island shop over two 2-hour sessions on March 16 & 30 from 1:00-3:00pm.
This class will be taught by our very own Betsy Pingree!
What you’ll need for the class:
US 5 circular knitting needles with a 16” cable AND US 5 double-pointed needles
OR
US 5 circular knitting needles with a 32” (or greater) cable (for magic loop knitting)
210 yards of worsted weight yarn – we recommend Knitting for Olive Heavy Merino, Brooklyn Tweed Shelter, or De Rerum Natura Gilliatt.
We will provide the printed pattern and a few notions. Needles and yarn should be purchased separately. If you'd like to purchase supplies from us, contact us for a 15% off discount, but you're welcome to bring your own supplies!
