Embroidery on Knits - October 18
Want to freshen up your knitwear?
In this 3 hour class, you'll learn how to add beautiful hand embroidery to your knitwear. Whether you're wanting to repair, mend or add a fresh design to a well-loved knit, we'll cover how to create simple motifs, practice foundational embroidery stitches, and explore the tools, materials, and techniques you'll need to feel confident embellishing any knitted piece. In this class we will embroider a flower design from the Embroidery on Knits book by Judit Gummlich.
This class is perfect for knitters and crocheters of all levels, no prior embroidery experience is required.
This class is held in person at our Bainbridge Island shop over one session on Sunday October 18th from 2:30pm - 5:30pm. Taught by Nikki Reynolds!
Techniques you'll learn:
- Setting up and using an embroidery hoop
- Foundational embroidery stitches
- How to design and transfer simple motifs
What you'll need for the class:
- Embroidery on Knits book by Judit Gummlich
- One blocked knit swatch in stockinette or crochet swatch in single crochet stitch that is approximately 10" x 10" in either a Sport or DK weight. We also recommend using a relatively smooth/non-textured yarn.
- Scrap yarn in Fingering - DK weight in multiple colors (we will also have extra scrap yarn available)
- Scissors
- Optional: Thrifted, vintage, or handknit sweater/accessory you wish to add embroidery to

If fewer than three spots are filled 72 hours before the class is scheduled to begin, the class will be canceled. A full refund will be issued and you will be notified.
