Knit tiny Wee Sheep in a fingering-weight yarn and larger Wee Sheep in a DK-weight yarn. Your handknit herd is sure to grow and grow.

 

Finished Measurements:

Tiny wee sheep: About 3"/7.5cm tall x 4"/10cm long.
Larger wee sheep:
 About. 4"/10cm tall x 5"/12.5cm long.
 

Yarn:

Tiny wee sheep: 115 yds of both main color (MC) and contrast color (CC). Makes approx. 5–6 sheep. 

Or approx. 22 yds MC and 12 yds CC in an fingering-weight yarn per sheep.
Larger wee sheep: 82 yds of both main color (MC) and contrast color (CC). Makes approx. 3–4 sheep. 
Or approx. 27 yds MC and 16 yds CC in a DK-weight yarn per sheep
Both sizes: Approx. 15 yds of crewel or fingering-weight yarn for embellishing.

Needles and Notions:

Tiny wee sheep: US 1-1/2 (2.5mm) set of 5 double-point needles, or size to obtain gauge.
US 0 (2mm) set of 5 double-point needles, or 2 sizes smaller than gauge needle. 
Larger wee sheep: US 3 (3.25mm) set of 5 double-point needles, or size to obtain gauge. 
US 1 (2.25mm) set of 5 double-point needles, or 2 sizes smaller than gauge needle.
Both sizes: US D/3 (3.25mm) crochet hook and 1 yd/m smooth fingering-weight yarn for provisional cast-on, wool or polyester stuffing, 8 locking markers, and a darning needle.


Gauge:

Tiny wee sheep: 30–32 sts = 4"/10cm in stockinette stitch in the round; a dense fabric keeps stuffing from showing through.
Larger wee sheep: 24–26 sts = 4"/10cm in stockinette stitch in the round; a dense fabric keeps stuffing from showing through.
