Knitting Lace: Poet Scarf - March 8 & 22
Looking to level up your knitting skills? Make the Poet Scarf by Sari Nordlund with us! In this intermediate knitting class, we will learn how to decode charts and knit intricate lace patterns. A perfect class to take before the warmer weather arrives, as this lightweight scarf can transition from your winter to spring closet!
Students should come already knowing how to knit and purl and have some familiarity with basic increases and decreases.
This class is held in person at our Bainbridge Island shop over two sessions on Sunday March 8th and Sunday March 22nd from 10:30am - 1:30pm.
Must Know:
- Knit and Purl
- Familiarity with basic increases and decreases
Techniques you'll learn:
- How to read and follow a lace chart on both knit and purl rows
- I-Cord Edging: How to maintain a neat, finished edged throughout the project
- Tips and tricks for blocking lace projects
What you'll need for the class:
- 250 yards of DK Weight yarn - We recommend De Rerum Natura Penelope and Magpie Fibers Swanky DK
OR
- 250 yards each of a Lace Weight and Fingering Weight yarn - We recommend Ampersand Avenir held with Compatible Cashmere or Soft Silk Mohair
- US 4 / 3.5mm needles
- Row Counter (recommended)
