 This class is for intermediate or advanced beginner knitters who are looking to dip their toes into the world of cables. The Ballard Beanie is a classic cable design that is easy to memorize and will keep you warm all winter!

 

This class is held in person at our Bainbridge Island shop over two sessions on Sunday January 11th and Sunday January 25th from 2:00pm - 4:00pm.



Must Know:

- Knit and Purl

- Work in the round, either magic loop or DPNs (Magic Loop is recommended for this pattern)

- Basic decreases

 

Techniques you'll learn:

- Tubular Cast On - There is also an option for long tail cast on!

- How to read and follow a cable chart with confidence. 

- How to use a cable needle

- Techniques for tensioning your cables for a polished result


What you'll need for the class:

- 125-225 yards of Worsted Weight weight yarn - We recommend Ampersand Garamond or De Rerum Natura Gilliatt

- Needles: US 4 / 3.5mm AND US 6 / 4mm needles with cable length 32”-40” for magic loop or DPNs

- Cable Needle

- Tapestry Needle

- Stitch Markers

- Waste Yarn

 

We will provide the printed pattern. Needles and yarn should be purchased separately. If you'd like to purchase supplies from us, contact us for a 15% off discount, but you're welcome to bring your own supplies!

If fewer than three spots are filled 72 hours before the class is scheduled to begin, the class will be canceled. A full refund will be issued and you will be notified.
