Meára - Olann Mills
Each colorway is actually a subtle blend of anywhere from 2-4 different colors of dyed wool that have been blending together throughout the process. The end result is a tonal yarn that is still full of depth and detail!
Not far from the Olann studio there is a set of five standing stones called Fionn McCools fingers, in Co. Cavan. The name derives from the legendary Irish warrior Fionn mac Cumhaill losing a hand in battle. They loved that so much of his life and stories are embedded in the fabric of so much of the landscape not just in Cavan but across Ireland. So often in his stories, Fionn's strength came from his fingers and hands. Finger translates to Meára in Gaelic. The Meára yarn is a versatile fingering weight yarn for knitters, that will give strength in your knitting projects.
